Time of Use Electricity Rates
TezLab fully supports electricity prices based on time of day or day of the week.
To enable Time of Use pricing:
- Open the charge location that you wish to update ( ⚡️ > Locations).
- Tap the pencil on the top right, or scroll down to Charge Costs and tap Edit Location Settings.
- If not already enabled, enable Detail & Cost Tracking, and then enter the rates.
Example: Time of Use Rate Plan
Time of Use rates apply to per kWh rates only. Start by adding your base cost. This is the cost that is normally in effect. We'll use the following rate plan as an example:
- Mid Peak: M-F 11AM - 5PM - 0.113/kWh
- On-Peak: M-F 7AM-11AM & 5PM - 7PM - 0.17/kWh
- Off-Peak: Weekends and outside the times above. i.e. Everything else. - 0.082/kWh
In this case because the Off-Peak price applies any time a Mid or On-Peak price does not apply, we'll set that as the base cost.
- Tap Set Price
- Select Price/kWh at the top
- Type the price. You do not need to type decimal points (but you can), it will format automatically.
- Tap the ✔ at the top right to apply.
Next, we'll add the Mid Peak price.
- Tap Add Time of Use Rates
- Type the next price, in this case, the Mid Peak price (0.113/kWh)
- Tap Apply. The scheduler will appear.
- Select 11AM start time, and 5PM end time.
- Deselect SU and S so the rate applies on weekdays only.
- Tap Apply. You will now see the price highlighted in the visualization above.
Next, we'll add the On-Peak price.
- Tap the back button on the top left to go back to the previous screen.
- Under the visualization, tap Add Price
- Type the next price, in this case, the On-Peak price (0.170/kWh)
- Tap Apply. The scheduler will appear.
- Select 7AM start time, and 11AM end time.
- Deselect SU and S so the rate applies on weekdays only.
- Tap Apply. You will now see the price highlighted in the visualization above.
- Tap Add Another Segment
- Select 5PM start time, and 7PM end time.
- Deselect SU and S so the rate applies on weekdays only.
- Tap Apply. You will now see the price highlighted in the visualization above.
To delete a time segment from a cost, tap the trash can 🗑 beside the Time Segment.
To delete a cost entirely, tap the ··· on the top right, and tap Delete Time of Day Cost.
